Frequently asked questions

COVID-19 vaccination

Is there someone I can talk to? What COVID-19 resources has Amazon made available?

The Medical Advice Line is available to the Amazon workforce. You can use it for help with questions about COVID-19. These include where to find vaccination or testing sites. Call the Medical Advice Line at 1-888-434-9473, available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Should I get the vaccine?

Yes. We encourage you to choose to be vaccinated and lead by example. By receiving a vaccination, you will help protect yourself, your loved ones, co-workers, and community.

Am I required to get the vaccine?

At this time, vaccination is not a requirement. However, we encourage you to choose to be vaccinated, lead by example, and help our community get back to normal.

Which vaccine would you recommend? Have you heard which one is the most effective?

All currently approved vaccines have demonstrated effectiveness in protecting recipients from severe complications, including death. For more information about COVID-19 vaccines that are available to you, talk with your healthcare provider or refer to information provided by the World Health Organization and your local health authority.

I am fully vaccinated. Do I need a booster?

The COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in the United States continue to be very effective at preventing severe complications and hospitalization. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends booster doses for:

  • Certain populations who completed their Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine more than 6 months ago. The recommendations are based on individual benefits and risks related to things like age, housing circumstances, and health considerations.
  • People who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than 2 months ago.

You should consult with your medical provider to determine whether a booster dose is recommended for your individual circumstances.

What if I am not planning to receive the vaccine?

We strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon it is available. This is for your own health and safety, and that of your loved ones, coworkers, and community. Approved vaccines have been proven safe and effective and are a critical step in helping our lives and communities return to normal.

Which vaccine will I receive?

The vaccines administered by the third-party health provider will depend on availability as determined by our federal, state, and local government partners. All approved COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and are proven to dramatically lower your risk of severe complications from COVID-19. For the latest information about the vaccines, what to expect at your appointment, and possible side effects, visit CDC: Getting Your COVID-19 Vaccine. We encourage you to choose to be vaccinated as soon as you are eligible.

Are my household members eligible for Amazon’s on-site vaccination events?

Depending on state and local guidelines, there may be instances when household members, who are 18 years old and over, of Amazon employees and partners working in our facilities are eligible to be vaccinated by the third-party health provider.

Who qualifies as a member of my household?

Any individual, 18 years old or over, who lives at the same residence as an Amazon employee or partner who works in our facilities qualifies as a household member. Household members do not need to be related to you.

What proof of age is required for household members?

At on-site events, the third party health provider will only administer vaccinations to individuals who are 18 years old or over. Proof of age will be required at the time of the vaccination appointment. Accepted proof of age includes government-issued IDs, student IDs, birth certificates, or other official documentation with an individual’s date of birth.

Do I need to be with my household members if I am not scheduled for a shift during their appointment?

Yes. You must accompany your household members into the building, even if you are not on a scheduled shift. If you have not received a vaccination yet, we encourage you to schedule appointments for yourself and your household at the same time when possible.

Do I need to clock out to receive my household members when they get to the building while I am working?

No. Employees who are on a scheduled shift do not need to clock out to meet their household members. Once your household members have checked-in, you should return to work. If you have not received a vaccination yet, we encourage you to schedule appointments for yourself and your household at the same time when possible.
